Troubleshoot Android notifications [DEVICE GUIDE]


📲 Android Push Notification Troubleshooting for Phone2


If you're not receiving push notifications from the Phone2 app on your Android device, certain settings or third-party apps may be blocking them. Use this guide to resolve issues based on your Android version or device model.


✅ Android 12 and Later (Including Android 13–15)


  1. Enable Notifications
  • After installing Phone2, ensure you've tapped "Allow" when prompted for notifications.
  • Or go to Settings > Apps > Phone2 > Notifications and enable all toggles.


  1. Disable Battery Restrictions
  • Go to Settings > Apps > Phone2 > Battery
  • Set usage to Unrestricted (not Optimized or Restricted)


  1. Exclude from Adaptive Battery (if available)
  • Go to Settings > Battery > Adaptive Preferences
  • Disable restrictions or add Phone2 to the exempt list


  1. Avoid App Standby Bucketing
  • Open Settings > Digital Wellbeing > App Timers or Battery > App usage
  • Make sure Phone2 isn’t listed under "Rarely Used" or "Restricted"


✅ Android 6.0 and Later


Make sure permissions for Phone2 are enabled:


  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap Apps
  3. Choose Phone2
  4. Tap Permissions and ensure all are enabled

Check that battery optimization isn’t blocking push notifications:


  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap Battery
  3. Tap the menu (⋮), then choose Battery Optimization
  4. Select All apps
  5. Find and select Phone2, then tap Don't optimize


⚠️ Third-Party App Conflicts


Some third-party apps may block notifications from Phone2. Here's how to disable those settings:


Clean Master


  1. Open the app and go to the Tools tab
  2. Select Notification Cleaner
  3. Tap the gear icon
  4. Disable this feature for Phone2 or for all apps


Security Master


  1. Open Notification Cleaner in the app
  2. Tap the gear icon
  3. Make sure Phone2 is unchecked under "Apps - Notifications Allowed"


In some cases, you may need to uninstall these apps to reliably receive notifications.

Asus Zenfone (Android 7.0)


  1. Enable auto-start
  • Go to Settings > Power Management > Auto-start Manager
  • Toggle Phone2 ON


  1. Add to protected apps
  • Go to Mobile Manager > Boost > Enable Super Boost > Protected App List
  • Ensure Phone2 is listed


Asus Zenfone 2


  • Go to Apps > Auto-start Manager
  • Toggle Phone2 to Allow

  1. Add to Protected Apps
  • Go to Settings > Power Saving > Protected Apps
  • Toggle Phone2 ON


  1. Enable push notifications
  • Go to Settings > Notification Manager
  • Enable notifications for Phone2

  1. Add to Protected Apps
  • Go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Battery Manager > Protected Apps
  • Toggle Phone2 ON


  1. Ignore battery optimization
  • Go to Settings > Apps > Advanced > Ignore Battery Optimizations
  • Select Phone2


  1. Allow notifications
  • Go to Settings > Notification Panel & Status Bar > Notification Center
  • Enable Allow Notifications and Priority Display


Huawei P8 Lite


  1. Enable startup
  • Go to Phone Manager > Startup Manager
  • Toggle Phone2 ON


  1. Allow notifications
  • Go to Phone Manager > Notification Manager > Rules
  • Ensure Phone2 can send notifications


Huawei Mate 8 / Nova Plus


  • Go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Battery Manager > Protected Apps
  • Toggle Phone2 ON


LeEco / LeTV


  1. Enable auto-launch
  • Go to Settings > Permissions > Manage Auto Launch
  • Toggle Phone2 ON

You may also need to disable "Lock Screen Cleanup" and "Ultra Long Standby" during sleep.

  • Go to Settings > Power Manager > Background App Management
  • Toggle Phone2 to Allow Auto-start

  • Go to Settings > Apps > ⚙️ (top right) > App AutoLaunch
  • Toggle Phone2 ON


OnePlus (Android 8.0 and later)


  1. Set Recent Apps to Normal Clear
  • Go to Settings > Advanced > Recent Apps Management
  • Choose Normal Clear


  1. Disable battery optimization
  • Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization
  • Select All apps, find Phone2, and choose Don't optimize
