[TCR] Limited Business Structure Options.

Is it possible to pass TCR review as Sole Proprietor with Phone2?

The short answer is: ✅yes✅, but it does require an additional step of setting up an EIN - thus making your business entity separate from your private information.

Sole Proprietors in the US primarily operate using their SSN instead of their EIN where applicable - this makes your legal entity inseparable from the private person.

❗Registering with your SSN is not possible for 10DLC verification with Phone2.

However, you can apply for an EIN with the IRS as Sole Proprietor - and register with an EIN as a business entity.

The process is fast, free, and can be done online - the simplest way is using the following IRS online web page on the matter. Please note that it's also possible to apply for an EIN via phone or fax - that's also mentioned on the following page:

Once processed, IRS sends sends you a reply to your SS-4 form - a letter confirming you have been assigned an Employer Identification Number (EIN).

It may come as Form SS-4, or CP-575. You can also request 147-C Letter from the IRS in case the original is lost.

That form contains the information you'll require for registration:

Your Company Name as Sole Proprietor will remain as your legal name

Your Display Name(Brand, Sort name) will be the second line on the SS-4 form: that's how your brand is identified

The address on the form will also be the legal address used in identifying your business - please make sure you use that address when registering for TCR.
